KAUKAUNA – Marty DeCoster and Jerry Palmer have taken out nomination papers for the District No. 1 aldermanic seat currently held by Lin Collins. Collins has filed a notice of noncandidacy, and will not run for re-election, according to Kaukauan City Clerk Susan Duda.

The deadline to submit nomination papers is 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017.

On Nov. 8, 2016, Districts 1 and 2 vote at River View Middle School, 101 Oak Street, Kaukauna, and Districts 3 and 4 vote in the new Municipal Services Building, 144 W. Second Street, Kaukauna.

The spring election is April 4, 2017.

One seat will be up for election in each of Kaukauna’s three other districts as well.

In District No. 2, Alderman Tim Roehrig’s seat us up for election, however no one yet has taken out nomination papers.

In District No. 3, Alderman Thomas McGinnis has filed his nomination papers and will run for re-election.

In District No. 4, Alderman Tony Penterman has taken out nomination papers, and is expected to run for re-election.

Nomination papers and information on running for city council can be picked up for Duda at the clerk’s office in the Kaukauna Municipal Services Building, 144 W. Second St., Kaukauna.

Two of the seven seats on the Kaukauna School Board will be up for election on April 4. They include the seats currently held by Suzanne Gertz and Sam Kelly, according to the school district website.

Gertz already has returned her nomination papers.

The deadline to file nomination papers is 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2017. A packet including the Declaration of Candidacy Form and Campaign Registration Statement is available from the district office next to Kaukauna High School at 1701 County Road CE, Kaukauna.
